The Marine Leisure Association (MLA) is the Trade Association for Training, Charter & Holidays. Formed at the Southampton Boat Show 2005 after the merge of three long-established organisations, namely; Association of Fully Bonded Sailing Companies (ABSC), National Federation of Sea Schools (NFSS) & Yacht Charter Association (YCA). 

 

Our 1st year has been very successful in bringing better protection for the general public and higher standards to the marine industry. Our exclusively recognised Code of Conduct, which all members must adhere to, guarantees customer confidence and assurance when booking with an MLA member. All Training Members are RYA Recognised establishments ensuring that safety is paramount.

As a Group Association within the British Marine Federation (BMF) the MLA represents its Members’ views within the BMF Council and is recognised by the Government, MCA, RYA and other agencies as the ‘National Body’.
